Maternity Leave
This week there were mixed emotions as I held the last face to face yoga classes here at the studio before going on maternity leave. I was sad to say goodbye to my beautiful Mums and Mums-to-be, yet at the same time very excited about moving into preparation phase to welcome our second child earthside.
This year, it has been such a blessing to be able to share Prenatal Yoga with other expectant mothers, to be able to share my own pregnancy journey with them through yoga.
The Yoga for Parenthood 10-week Program has just wrapped up too. I feel like I gained just as much from the program as the wonderful Postnatal Yoga mums who participated so open-heartedly. It was so special to see them develop connections with each other and I have no doubt some of them will be staying in touch to support each other further on their parenthood journeys.
My pregnancy asked of me to slow down in other areas of teaching yoga, and I was sad to finish Lunar Yoga classes and OM Chanting earlier in the year than planned. I miss all the wonderful students at Ujjayi Yoga and hope to reconnect once I move into my postpartum phase. It has certainly been a case of listening to the needs of my baby and my pregnant body - yoga in practice!
Although not teaching classes now, I still have some project work to finish up before baby arrives. I’m very excited about an online program in Yoga Philosophy for Parenthood that I am currently co-creating and can’t wait to share more details with you as soon as it is released. This release is likely to occur whilst I am still on maternity leave, so stay tuned via email and socials!
With my first child, I truly valued the quality time we shared together in the postpartum period and the first 18 months of his life before I returned to work. I’m not sure if I will take a similar period of time with our daughter after she arrives, but it’s likely there will be no further classes until at least mid-2022. In the meantime, don’t forget to download the free yoga sequence, meditation and eBook I offer on my mail signup, or checkout my Resources page for free offerings specific to wherever you are on your yoga journey.
Thankyou for all the support you have given to Bright Beginnings Yoga since I opened in Launceston and I look forward to connecting further through yoga in future.
