Congratulations on your Pregnancy! Truly the start of a Bright New Beginning.
The most important consideration in Prenatal Yoga is creating space. Space for Baby to grow and move and space for mums and parents to find some comfort and ease within your expanding body, busy mind and energy field in preparation for stepping into motherhood or parenthood.
In prenatal yoga, we use plenty of supportive props such as bolsters and blankets. Classes are suitable for all trimesters of pregnancy and no previous yoga experience is needed:
you do not need to be ‘flexible’ or ‘fit’
if you have any movement restrictions from your healthcare provider, please contact us to discuss, as our yoga classes are accessible for all levels of mobility and we should still be able to accommodate you
What you Will Learn
We have spent years developing our Prenatal Yoga curriculum, meticulously curating core practices across all facets of yoga. During our transformative sessions together, you will explore yoga across all its limbs, covering topics such as:
Creating space for yourself and baby
Connecting with baby
Moving and trusting your pregnant body
Being breathed and working with the breath
Harnessing your pelvic energy
Softening and sounding
Steadiness and stamina
Finding balance
Withdrawing your senses: turning inwards
Active birthing postures and principles
Supporting optimal positioning for baby
Advocating for yourself
Your relationship with yourself, your baby and your support people
Prenatal Yoga Classes
Group Programs
@ Doubleview House
We strongly believe in accessibility, which is what we deliver in our small group workshops. These workshops are suitable for pregnancy.
If you’re unsure whether yoga is the right fit for your pregnancy journey, but you’re interested to give it a go, this is the perfect place to begin.
Private Prenatal Yoga Classes
We offer private prenatal yoga classes to ensure your individual pregnancy needs are heard and supported. Private classes will give you the best outcomes when working towards your pregnancy and parenthood goals. You can learn more about why our classes have a 1:1 format here.
Continuity of care is one of the leading factors in a positive birth and postpartum experience. For this reason, we highly recommend our Continuity of Care Package, which provides you with support not only during pregnancy and for birth preparation, but all the way until 1 year postpartum as well.
Other reasons Private Prenatal Yoga Classes may be the right fit for you:
you are deeply committed to your matrescence journey and want to do all you possibly can to support your pregnancy, prepare for birth and emerge into your parenthood feeling empowered
you understand that your individual needs will not be fully met in a group class environment and your deepest questions and concerns may go unanswered
your life circumstances do not allow you to easily attend group yoga classes
you do not feel comfortable in a group class setting
you are experiencing pregnancy challenges such as pelvic girdle pain, anxiety, insomnia or malposition of baby and would like specialised support
you have a high risk pregnancy that requires special medical considerations and restrictions on your movement/exercise choices
Pregnancy Partner Classes
These 90 minute sessions involve pregnancy support and birth preparation for both you, the birthing person, and your support partner. You will learn techniques and insights from Bowen Therapy, Yoga, Movement Education and Coaching modalities to uniquely suit your pregnancy and birthing needs.
A private Pregnancy Partner Class allows us time to get to know you and your unique circumstances more fully and improve the specificity of the class for your needs as a partnership. This goes beyond what is offered in our prenatal yoga sessions, or can be a valuable follow-up to integrate and build upon the learnings around deepening relationships as you prepare for birth.
What Students are Saying
“I have just finished the Prenatal Yoga Program with Claire and I cannot recommend this highly enough to anyone that is pregnant and looking for something to help prepare their mind, body and soul for the journey ahead.
Sessions with Claire exceeded my expectations and have really helped me understand my body in relation to pregnancy and preparation for birth and most importantly to me, it has been a welcome time of reflection, mental preparation and learning in amongst the chaos that is navigating a first pregnancy.
Claire has created a welcoming and safe environment, free of judgement or pressure and she truly knows how to best support the people she is working with. It is evident that she has a wealth of knowledge, a very open and generous spirit and fantastic experience that has brought her to where she is now.
Thank you Claire for everything!”
