What is Bowen Therapy?
Bowen Therapy is a non-invasive soft tissue therapy. By applying gentle pressure without forceful manipulation, a Bowen Therapist uses touch to communicate with the fascia* and nerve receptors of the body. This has a flow on influence on the muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and organs.
Bowen moves initiate the body’s own restorative and organisational responses, encouraging the body to unwind and release tension. It is a healing modality that honours the body’s innate intelligence and capacity to heal and return to a balanced, yet dynamic state. Therapeutic wait times between moves provide the nervous system with time to process the sensory information and make adjustments.
The comfort of the client is paramount, therefore when someone is unable to lie down for the treatment, they can lie on their side or remain seated. This allows the therapist to

About our Bowen Therapist
Claire has had an interest in the human body and physical movement from a young age. During her teenage years, she developed a passion for endurance exercise and continues her love of running, swimming and cycling to this day. As an university student, she began exploring yoga and pilates and went on to study as a Yoga Teacher and Movement Educator. Through her journey into parenthood, Claire became particularly interested in pelvic health and now focuses on supporting matrescence: preconception, pregnancy, postpartum and parenting.
Claire is currently studying with Bowen Training Australia RTO41134 towards the Nationally Recognised Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy 10846NAT. She is undertaking a series of case studies and complimentary treatments as she works towards completing her training.
